Local App revenue surpasses $1m mark

The iAppNetwork has announced a milestone achievement with revenue in June exceeding $1m on an annualised basis.

Managing director Tony O’Regan said it was an important milestone to note as only three of the apps have been operating more than a year. “This revenue comes from just six apps as we haven’t counted those just launched,” said Tony. “It shows what a bright future the product has and the scope for growth given time and an improved platform which is about to be released.”

Tony said that those apps operating more than a year were highly profitable and making a serious contribution to local journalism and community wellbeing through the dissemination of information.

“The apps are proving extremely popular as people seek out local news and information. This is attractive to the advertising market who are looking for a local digital solution to reaching their community,” said Tony.

“The new platform we are launching will enhance usage and help deliver a higher advertising yield,” Tony said. He is expecting advertising growth to continue at double-digit rates for the established apps.
